Griffiths Evans are appointed by London Stadium 185 to provide ongoing building services engineering support for capital development projects at the London Stadium. Our role includes the delivery of design and consultancy services across a range of key infrastructure projects that support the stadium’s long term operational strategy and sustainability goals.

We have designed new power infrastructure to the external podium areas to eliminate the need for diesel generator sets during major events, significantly reducing Scope 1 carbon emissions. Additional projects include the new turnstile buildings, which incorporate solar photovoltaics (PVs), high density WiFi, CCTV, digital signage, and a plug in power and data infrastructure system to support event overlay catering. We have supported the stadium team with the replacement of the fire hydrant mains system and a number of lifecycle replacement works aligned to energy and operational performance targets.

Griffiths Evans led the complete replacement of all traditional lighting within the stadium with high efficiency LED systems. We developed the Employer’s Requirements for the project and acted in a client monitoring role throughout the phased implementation. The lighting upgrade is now delivering annual energy savings in excess of 2 million kWh.
